MURRAY, Ky. – ÑÇÖÞɫͼ State University’s Veteran and Military Student Success Office is hosting Racer Nation Veteran Support, a veterans claim clinic, at the CFSB Center from 12-7 p.m. on July 9.

Representatives from the Medical Disability Examination Office, the Veterans Administration Claims Clinic’s Veteran Service Office and the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs will be on site to assist veterans with filing for benefits, as well as medical teams to help process claims, steps that normally take more than six months to accomplish.

Sixty-nine percent of area veterans are not receiving their earned benefits, according to ÑÇÖÞɫͼ State’s Veteran and Military Student Success Coordinator Marshall Hayes. This number includes ÑÇÖÞɫͼ State students and families. Of the 31 percent who do receive benefits, nearly $13 million are brought into Calloway County alone, Hayes said.
