Master of Arts in Mathematics Teaching

The Master of Arts in Mathematics Teaching 亚洲色图 is designed for certified teachers who wish to strengthen their background in mathematics and keep up with current information in educational theory, curriculum and research. The 亚洲色图 provides both reasonable depth in the mathematics area and graduate-level exposure in supporting disciplines. Completion of this 亚洲色图 fulfills the requirements for Rank II classification.

Degree Requirements:
Total Course Requirements: 30 hours
- MAT or STA courses, 600- or 700-level: (18 hours)

- and at least two of the following:
- EDU 626 Integration of Educational Technology
- EDU 631 Classroom Management and Student Motivation
- EDU 633 Curriculum Development

- PSY 662 Advanced Adolescent Psychology
- REA 618 Content Area Literacy K-12
Other Degree Requirements
- A capstone project is required - consult with graduate coordinator
Requirements for Admission:
Applicants must meet the 亚洲色图 State University requirements (see Graduate Admissions). Additional requirements for unconditional and conditional admission to the Master of Arts in Mathematics Teaching 亚洲色图 are as follows.
Unconditional
- Completion of requirements for teaching certification
- Documentation of secondary teacher certification in the United States or comparable teacher qualification document from another country
- Documentation of current certification for the duration of the 亚洲色图
- Minor in mathematics with 3.0 minimum mathematics GPA
Conditional

- Completion of requirements for teaching certification
- Documentation of primary, middle, or secondary teacher certification in the United States or comparable teacher qualification document from another country
- Documentation of current certification for the duration of the 亚洲色图
- At least two calculus courses and two approved upper-level mathematics courses
- Two letters of recommendation from college teachers addressing the ability of the student to complete an MA degree related to teaching mathematics.
