Apply to the Honors College
Ready to join the Honors College? To apply, you must complete an Honors College application, which is separate from the application to ÑÇÖÞɫͼ State. (If you haven’t been accepted to ÑÇÖÞɫͼ State yet, you can still apply to the Honors College now.) For priority consideration, submit the application and short essay by December 15. Applications submitted after December 15 will be evaluated as there is room in the ÑÇÖÞɫͼ.
Are You Eligible?
Acceptance to the Honors College is competitive. To apply, you must meet one of the following criteria and be close to meeting the other (e.g. a 28+ ACT and a 3.6 GPA; or a 3.8+ GPA and a 27 ACT):
- 28+ cumulative ACT score
- 3.8+ high school GPA on a 4.0 scale
The selection committees consider the whole student — including extracurricular activities, leadership and motivation — when recommending who is accepted.
Presidential Fellowship recipients
If you receive the Presidential Fellowship, you are automatically accepted and required
to participate in the Honors College. However, you are still required to submit the
Honors application.
What About the College Credits You Earned in High School?
You’ve worked hard in high school, and we make sure to honor your accomplishments. That’s why we review each transcript individually to make sure your Advanced Placement or dual enrollment courses that qualify as Honors College seminar classes will count toward your Honors degree.
